For those of you who don’t know, the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, FL is basically like the High School Prom for all things relating to motorcycle gear. It is a big event in a grand venue, there a ton of fancy rides, and all of the focus is on the clothes. The main difference is just that at AIMExpo, the attire that is grabbing everyone’s attention is usually in the display cases, not on the attendants.
One of the most notable names in the industry has announced some of their new lineup for 2016, and as such, they have garnered a ton of attention thus far. With the REV’IT! Outback 2 and REV’IT! Tornado 2 jackets on display, we finally have gotten a glimpse into the newest era REV’IT! ADV gear, and it is a glimpse that we like.
While the hard facts on the technical aspects of the jackets are not totally solidified at the moment, what we can comment on are the look of each, and the direction that we see them going. For the Outback 2, the outward appearance is tweaked, even if only slightly. From the reimagined pocket scheme that have streamlined the button closures, to the noticeable incorporation of more elastication, the first glance at the Outback 2 is encouraging thus far.Next on the list is the REV’IT! Tornado 2 jacket, and this one looks quite a bit different than the original. While the ardent attention to detail and quality of construction will undoubtedly remain (it is a REVIT jacket after all!), the cut of the new Tornado 2 is noticeably more aggressive than its older brother. Functionality of the Tornado lineup will always be geared at flowing a ton of air, while also providing a bit of added functionality through varying conditions, but for 2016 it appears that they slimmed the package down a bit for a more streamlined ride.
