We've seen exciting things over the last few years from Cardo, such as the Scala Rider G4 and G9, and the software updates that came with them. Until now, the lesser models have missed out on some of that love. However, this Spring we will see the next generation of the 'Q' line with the new Q1 and Q3 models.

The Cardo Scala Rider Q1 Multiset is designed for rider to passenger use alone and for this reason, only comes in a multiset. In addition to the full duplex intercom, one highly requested feature addition will be 'Music Sharing.' This allows the rider and passenger to listen to the same stereo music together over A2DP. Cardo plans to make these units fully functional with their online customization and update platform, providing an extra layer of personalization for your unit. Battery life bumps up to 10 hours on the Q1, and the overall size of the unit is smaller for streamline installation. The controls look to be more intuitive and laid out in a more ergonomic fashion while the software contains many other perks, including AGC self-adjusting volume, voice activation, built-in FM radio with RDS, and click-to-link spontaneous intercom pairing.

If you are a solo rider, or plan to use your unit with someone on another bike, the Cardo Scala Rider Q3 is your best option. This version is available as a single unit, but the Cardo Scala Rider Q3 Multiset can also be purchased if you know you'll be needing two. Getting the Q3 as a multiset will cost you a few less bones than ordering them individually. The Q3 has a much longer range for bike-to-bike communications - up to 1,100 yards in full duplex! Range being the primary difference, the Q3 showcases all of the features of the Q1 as well.
Both units are certified waterproof and dustproof to the IP67 standard. Both offer bluetooth integration with and MP3 player or GPS unit and both offer the 'dual HS profile' for connection with two bluetooth-enabled phones simultaneously.
